Hey All,
I haven't read anything on this forum about Taiwan, So I thought I'd share a bit about it. Most people probably don't even know that Taiwan has some great diving spots. Here's just a bit of info: Reports of sightings of schools of hammerheads of up to 200, around Green Island, close to the main island. Turtle nesting areas Good visibility - 20 to 30 meter (except for tyhoon times) Wide range of hard and soft coral. Falls within the Philippine sea Cheap locally manufactured gear An excellent, well run diving pool, dedicated for diver training in the Southern-most part of the country. The pool is built and sectioned in different depths - 1.2m, 2.5m, 5m, and even a 10m section! Maybe, I'm behind times but the 10m section just blew my mind. Full-time job opportunities are, as far as I know, non-existent for dive pros. There are a couple of non-Chinese speaking instructors here, but they are mostly westerners who started out as teachers of English here. You could however teach English in the country and conduct some diving courses on the side line. It'll take you some time to get around to organising this, but it's possible.
Anyway, just thought I'd share a bit of a different flavor.
Cheers Paul

This Area is awsome guys if you get a chance, Typhoon or not it is worth a look, a long hard Look. I'll be here for another 12 months so if your thinking of drifting in sing out.
