I've got potential students before that were signed off by their doctor when they had total contraindications to diving, so I didn't take them. I don't know about steal plates in the head, but I'd phone PADI and ask them. In any case you can refuse a student you are uncomfortable with taking a risk on, even if their doctor and PADI say they're medically okay.

Oh yeah, don't always just accept a doctor's approval if you have any doubt. I had a potential diver at the resort I worked at, signed off by her doctor for some heart condition she took medication for, we denied her the diving and she really hated us, throwing tantrums and everything. Then a few days later she died playing Beach Volleyball beause of the condition. Now imagine if we had of let her dive and the trouble we'd be in, and the guilt we'd have, now.

you can also call dan, but generally i would agree with dave on the issue at hand or require a medical of a doctor specializd in dive medicine.

Thank you for your replys. Also special thank you to scubadave for taking the time and mail me personal . I think,i will send him first to the university hospital here in Prague. There are dive doctors. And then take it from this point to make decision.
