Because so many dive shops have similar names, whomever posts information about a dive shop needs to include the following information:
1: Dive shop name - full and/or abbreviation and their website (if they have one) or phone number
2: City/State or country/region. Common abbreviations - those known worldwide - will be OK, but the full name would be better. Most people understand that DR is the Dominican Republic, but there might be another lesser known region that goes by the same initials.
3: Optional: Shop agency affiliation - just in case there are multiple shops with different certification agency affiliations.
It would look like this:
Aqua Action Dive Center
St Thomas, US Virgin Islands
www.aadivers.com
888-775-6285
PADI, SSI, NAUI, HSA
As we grow, we want to avoid too much confusion from the beginning. If there is a post (after this) without the information, then please make any effort to gather the information. We might have a lurker that's looking for information, and the more complete it is, the better we will look...;D . Might as well start now.
